Livejournal is a site in which users can create their own personal journals. Some people prefer LJ's over blogs due to the privacy (the Friend's Only option). Although LJ's are very common, their customization can be found difficult by new users. Besides HTML, LJ uses a system of overrides that customize basically the entire journal. I have created this generator so you can quickly and easily customize your LJ the way you want it to look. It will have a centered header image, a navigation bar, and the entries below it.

Follow the steps below to create and customize your Livejournal. If you already have one, skip to step #:

1. Go to livejournal.com. Create a new account and be sure to validate it.
2. You will need to create a header image for your journal. The image should be about 500 x 300px, but you can make it any size you wish.*
3. You may also create an icon (100 x 100px or less) for your LJ, but note that it will NOT be displayed on the main page of your LJ.
4. Fill out EVERY FIELD in the form below.**
5. When the code has been generated, go to Manage » Customize, then click Modify Journal or modify.bml. Make sure it is set to Style System 1.
6. SET ALL THE LAYOUT STYLES TO GENERATOR! That is the four drop-down menus you immediately see.
7. Copy the generated overrides into the overrides textbox. Click Save Changes.
8. I suggest you make an example entry to see how everything looks.

*The header is suggested to have a fluent background color to match the table color. It does not need to have a border.
**If you do not have a website, leave both fields blank.
