I'm sorry that my blog has become a weekly "check in" instead of a daily thing. There are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Oh, I guess I should mention that I red TRASHY.NU as my collective. It's just links to my current projects. Nothing special. But check it out anyway. I'm starting to have computer problems again. No, I don't have viruses again like I had over the summer; it's a space issue this time. This computer is three or four years old, so a lot of crap has been stored on it over the years. I'm down to almost zero space, and it's so slow because of that. I need to start weeding out useless crap on my hard drive to free up space. But hey, it might be the seven Degrassi episodes that I downloaded or the music videos. We'll see. Does anyone else have Green Day's "American Idiot" CD? I just bought it yesterday on my way home from getting my hair cut, and it's quite good so far. I'm only up to track six, but I'm liking it up to this point. Yay. Uh oh, the second Presidential Debate is on tonight. Get ready for a long and detailed entry about it in the next few days. I'm sure I'll have a lot to say about it, since I never got to write about the last one. I can't seem to stay on a topic for more than a few sentences. I think I've touched on everything but little boys... (thanks, Eminem). So I'm going to stop blogging now. I hope you enjoyed that completely pointless post! Last night was the homecoming dance, but I didn't go. I had actually made plans to go to the The Format concert, but I got grounded at the last second. I've been wondering how the dance went all morning. I can't wait till tomorrow to find out who got drunk, who hooked up, and what all the juicy gossip is. My favorite part of the homecoming experience is the Monday after. That's when I hear about all the parties that I'm not rebellious enough to go to. I think I mentioned a few weeks ago that we painted my bedroom. I've finally cleaned up and hung some of my new posters up from Ebay, so I decided to take some pictures: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05. Just so you don't think I'm some obsessive compulsive neat freak, my room isn't always this clean. I cleaned up especially for these pictures (sad, I know, haha). And yes, I realize it's very patriotic looking; I blame Tommy Hilfiger and my mother for that one. I'll be taking some more pictures of my room once everything is hung up. I still have a few more posters and pictures to go up on the wall and some Christmas lights to go around the ceiling. However, I'm far too lazy to finish the decorating quite yet. I was watching TV last night, like I do every night before bed, and I came across some MTV special with Christina Aguilera talking about sex and politics. It was one of those Choose or Lose shows that have been flooding MTV lately for the November election. They basically went over President Bush's views on abortion and compared them to John Kerry's; Christina Aguilera also interviewed members of the Silver Ring Thing (an abstinence "club"?) and got their views on sex before marriage and abortion. I must say, it just made me hate George W. Bush even more. I'm Pro Choice (unless it's really late in the pregnency), and Bush is completely against abortion. I don't think I could ever vote for a man that strips people of their rights. He tries to take away women's and gay's rights (abortion and gay marriage issues), which just add to the reasons I hate him (Iraq war, Patriot Act, etc.). How fucking dumb. He also has spent millions of dollars educating young people on abstinence only, with no mention of forms of birth control. Way to mix religion and politics, eh? If you're 18+ in the US, don't forget to register to vote. Most states require you to do it by October 1st, so hurry! Hopefully we can get this monster out of office immediately. This layout was originally going to be put up for sale, but then I decided that no one would buy it because it features a fairly unknown artist; it's Val Emmich, the guy I met at the American Hi-Fi show last month (click here for the archived entry about him). I'm in love with what I've heard of his CD, and I can't wait till it comes out. I hope you like the layout. It's quite different for me, and I'm kind of nervous about releasing it. I hope it isn't butt ugly. My next project will be making some more that I can actually part with so I can sell them. Oh, and before I forget, Donna has a hot new domain.
This past week seemed like one big blur. It's one of those weeks where the days seem to take forever to pass, but at the end of the week you wonder where the time went. Virtually all of my time was spent on schoolwork, sleeping, and working on the school newspaper. By the way, issue 1 of the paper came out yesterday, and I think it was the best issue yet. I think all of our hard work paid off, and we now have a paper I can be proud of. Even students were reading it, which never happens; usually only a few teachers care to read it. Speaking of time flying, can you believe it's already the end of September? There's only a few months left before my 17th birthday, so I'm really excited. It's hard to believe that I only have less than two years left of high school. Eh, I'm freaking myself out thinking about this. The night before, I spent a solid five hours working on it.
 Do you realize how much freaking work that is?! Damn, and this is only an 8 page issue; usually they're 12! Anyway, the good news is, the school newspaper will be coming out Friday. And now I get a 2 to 3 week break if I play my cards right. It's the first publication of the year (my second as the layout editor), so it's really exciting. We also have a brand new layout this year and a bunch of new features, so I can't wait till people finally read it. We've been slaving away at this for about a month! Oh yeah, and that picture along the left is me showing off my new shoes that I got in New York. I love them. (And yes, I realize I am standing on top of my bathtub/shower. Notice the shampoo and soap in the back, haha. It's the only place where I have a big mirror in my house!)I didn't get much sleep last night because I got home really late and then had to work on homework. So I think I'm going to go take a quick nap before I start tonight's homework.
