Rant
I’ve reached the limit of the amount of crap I’ve taken for not making my own layouts all the time. I hate devoting even one paragraph of my blog to internet life, but this must be addressed.
I’m sure there are people out there with personal sites who do find the time and creativity to make new layouts every single week. I used to be one of them, back when I was really into this whole website thing. But that’s just not me anymore, and I’ve developed other responsibilities in life that actually, *gasp*, draw me away from the computer. School, the newspaper, family, friends, getting into college, etc. I hate to say it, but the novelty has worn off. Most people who change layouts every week tend to repeat themselves, using the same brushes and techniques over and over again. If I’m going to spend a few hours of my life working on a graphic, I’m going to try as hard as I can not to repeat myself like many do. I won’t name any names.
I haven’t fully given up on this piece of crap website. I do try to maintain the blog to keep the kids entertained, even pumping out a layout of my own every month or two. There are plenty of skins to choose from, so there’s never any reason to complain about a lack of layouts. I really don’t understand why the maker of the layout is so important, and how everyone jumps all over people who don’t always make their own layouts. I really don’t care what people think of this site or me; but it seems like there are far too many people hyperanalyzing this site.
I’ve been around for about three years. By now, if you’ve been here a while, you should know what I’m capable of doing. I don’t feel the need to prove my graphic design skills to you all on a weekly basis. That’s just not my thing anymore.
Back away from the computer, like I have, and find something else to do. As cliche as it sounds, click the x at the top of the screen if you don’t like what you see. There are plenty of people who continue to support me and my site, so I must be doing something right. Whether it be my amazing good looks or charming wit and personality, I do not know… [kidding, of course]. Thank you, and good night. Real blog tomorrow, hopefully.
