California, here we come
I’m an OC junkie, so it’s only fitting that I make an entry about the season premiere. Here are some thoughts that ran through my head while watching (and they probably won’t make sense unless you saw the episode). Caution: spoilers!
Ryan’s hair: what happened? How did he have time to stop for a haircut on the way to the hospital after his brother was shot? (Yes, I realize that the episode took place a few months after the shooting. However, Ryan’s hair was short in his dream that took place in the hospital, which doesn’t make sense. I notice continuity mistakes like this all the time.)
Oh, and Marissa’s weave was insane, too.
I loved Seth’s comments about baseball. (I really need to rewind the tape so I can get the quotes exactly, but here’s the jist of the conversation between Seth and Ryan.)
Seth: I just don’t understand that thing they call, uh, baseball.
Ryan: You mean our national pasttime?
Seth: I see it as more of a fad, really.
I was really hoping for an Oliver comeback. With Kirstin in rehab, it would be a perfect time to reintroduce him to the show. They could be buddies, or something. Instead, Kirstin is hanging out with some lesbian-esque sketchy woman who I’m hoping will not become a regular on the show. I just know she’s going to ruin Kirstin and Sandy’s relationship. If they can’t make it, no one can.
I usually love Julie Cooper, but she seemed too evil in this episode. Bribing Trey to blame the whole shooting on Ryan? How could she do that to her daughter’s boyfriend? Oh right, she’s Julie Cooper; there really are no morals for her.
Where’s Jess? I miss her, even though she’s an evil little coke whore who ruined everyone’s lives. Oh well.
Reunion was surprisingly good. Did anyone else notice that Hayley from The OC is one of the six characters? She sure gets around on all of these Fox shows: first The OC, then North Shore, and now Reunion. All within a year or two. Damn.
Thanks for reading. Hit up my comments with your thoughts on the episode. I’m interested to hear what everyone else thought!
