This tutorial will show you how to make a cool 3D twist image.
Make a new image (any size). Click the gradient tool and match your settings to mine. (click here)
Then from the middle of the image, click, drag to a little before the edge and then let go. You should get a blurred looking ball.
Now go to Filter > Stylize > Extrude and match your settings to mine. (click here)
Now to to FIlter > Distort > Twirl and set it to 126.
Dupliate th ebackground layer and then go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.
Set the duplicated layer to overlay, then Press Ctrl l.
Colorize both background layer and the dupliated layer to the color of your choice.
Dupliate the original background layer and then go to Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates. Set it to "Rectangular to polar". Set this layer to overlay.
Dupliate the original layer again. Go to Filter > Distort > Wave. Leave it as default settings. Set this layer to Overlay.
Optional: After all those steps, dupliate the original background layer and set it to overlay. Then go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Sprayed Strokes. Leave it as default. It adds a nice effect, but can make it look a bit choppy.
You're done! I got this:
