Paint Shop Pro 7 - Image Mapping

  • Image mapping comes in handy when you want to make certain parts of an image function as links. This tutorial will teach you how to do it!
  • Make your image that you want to be mapped. Then go to File > Export > Image Mapper. You should see a pop up with your image and a few little boxes to type things into.
  • To "select" an area to be image mapped, click on the square shape in the "Tools" menu. You can also use the other shapes if you want to. Make the shape surround what you want to be the "link". A green shape around it signifies what has been selected.
  • Next, type in the URL in the URL box of where you want it to be linked to. You can also add ALT text in the ALT box, and you can determine how it will(new window, etc.) in the Target box.
  • Next, click "Save As" at the bottom. It's best to make a new folder to put this in. It should now be saved.
  • Go to where you saved it, andup index.htm and view the source. Now copy and paste the image mapping code into your layout code and replace the filename to the appropriate filename of the image.
  • You're done! This is what I got:
